UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA LAW SCHOOL REPUBLICAN MISSION STATEMENT
The UF Law School Republicans exist to advocate the beliefs, goals, and platforms of the Republican Party. The LSR organization is a haven for the discussion of political ideas, most especially those protected by the Republican Party, such as individual freedom, personal responsibility, and a more equitable and just union.
The LSRs aid in the election of Republican candidates at all levels of government. To this end, the LSR and its officers in their capacities as LSR officers neither endorse nor oppose any Republican candidates prior to a primary or convention when there is more than one Republican candidate for the same office.
One of the main tasks for the LSRs is to promote the political philosophy of the Republican Party in the student community and the local media by organizing and participating in dialogues, debates, and other activities which heighten the political education of the student body.
ABOUT THE CURRENT LSRSĀ
The University of Florida Law School Republicans were founded only five years ago. For the past two years, Christian Waugh has served as the organization’s President. This year’s officers include Jariel Bortnick (VP), Zachariah Zachariah (Treasurer), and Emily Matheson (Secretary).
